Our 14 & UNDER league is designed for girls ages 11 to 14. In this league, except for a few minor local rules, games are played according to ASA fastpitch softball regulations. Emphasis is still on teaching the basics of throwing, hitting, catching, and running the bases but now players are stealing bases, going against player pitchers, and are learning all aspects of fastpitch softball.

Local Rules

  1. The time limit for a regulation game will be one (1) hour and twenty (20) minutes.
  2. A maximum of nine (9) runs will be allowed in any one-half inning.
  3. Ten (10) players will be used on defense and in the batting order, if available.
  4. Substitutions must be made in the third inning. All players must play at least twelve (12) consecutive outs, if time allows. It is the responsibility of the coach, not the umpire or scorekeeper, to make the required substitutions.
  5. A team must have at least eight (8) players in order to avoid a forfeit. If only nine players are in the line-up, there is no penalty for the offensive team. If only eight players are in the line up, an automatic out must be taken each time the ninth position in the batting order comes up, per ASA rules.
  6. A pitcher may only pitch two innings per game. An inning shall be defined as any time a player pitches at least one pitch in an inning.
  7. When a runner is on third, that runner may not steal home on a passed ball. However, if the catcher attempts to throw any runner out at first, second or third, then any of the base runners may advance as many bases as they can up to and including home.
  8. If a game is tied at the end of regulation, the tie will be played off immediately, according to official ASA tiebreaker rules.
  9. Rain outs will be rescheduled (for rain outs in addition to the determined number by the League at the start of the season that will not be made up) and played in order in which they were originally scheduled, unless: (1) The game is rained out again, or (2) One of the teams already has a game scheduled for the make-up date.
  10. For purposed of making up a rain-out, a coach must be notified by at least 4:00 p.m. on the day before the make-up game is scheduled.
  11. Overall win/loss records will determine the regular season playoff teams in each of the league divisions. If there is a tie after the overall records are considered, the first tie breaker will be the winner in head-to-head competition. The second tiebreaker will be divisional win/loss records.
